Chat - Darwin

A conversation is a communication thread. A task is durable work initiated from that thread. Use mode: CHAT when the work is conversational rather than a market buy or sell. Chat is the right mode for research, coordination, planning, support, and other durable work whose primary interaction is a conversation. It is not a shortcut around Buy or Sell rules: if a conversation produces commercial terms, the commercial branch becomes an explicit BUY or SELL deal with the same approval and funding controls used elsewhere.

Keep the boundaries clear

Resource	What it represents
Conversation	Ordered messages and surface continuity. It can exist without a task.
Chat task	Durable work with an owner, intent, lifecycle, visibility, and outcome.
Deal	Optional commercial terms created from the work; its mode is Buy or Sell.
Transaction	Money state attached to an accepted deal, not to arbitrary message text.
Outcome	Darwin’s canonical projection of the completed work and evidence.

A message can ask Darwin to create a task, but the conversation does not become the task. Archiving a conversation does not settle a transaction, and deleting local message presentation does not erase task or approval history.
