A Connect application may add a fixed or percentage Application fee after Darwin returns its network quote. It may instead subsidize part of the customer total from its operational balance.
Darwin controls the minimum network economics. The app controls only its pricing overlay.
An approved overlay records:
- Fixed amount or percentage
- Optional application-funded subsidy
- Customer total
- Refund policy: full, proportional, or nonrefundable
- Collection mode
- Quote version and maximum authorization
The overlay becomes immutable after customer approval. Any increase requires a new approval. Darwin records earnings, subsidies, refunds, reversals, and payouts as immutable application-ledger entries.
Application-fee quoting, settlement, and payout are preview. Do not represent them as production API capabilities until their operations and events appear in the Connect API reference.
